About
Hello, my name is Matthew Toombs and the Toombs Realm is my personal home on the Internet. It's my place to share things that interesting me with my friends and family. I hope you enjoy the site as much as I've enjoyed putting it together.

Where am I from?
I always get stumped when someone ask me where I'm from. Here's why:
I was born in Michigan in the mid '60s, but quickly moved to Florida where I completed most of my grade school years. After Florida, I moved to Ohio, but only for 7 months. Then it was off to Conneticut where I finished junior high. Next, New Jersey and the high school years. After about one year of community college, my family and I moved to Kentucky. I attended the University of Louisville, met my wife, started working full time as a computer technician. Shortly after my 2nd daughter was born, I moved my new family to Arkansas to manage a computer store. About 3 years ago, the company I ended up working for moved me and my family to Florida. So, I've come pretty much full circle!

A bit more about me:
I'm married to a fantastic (and very patient) wife whom I love without measure! We have to two daughters. As a result I have very little hair left on my head... and what I have is turning grey!

I am employed as a Developer/Programmer for the purchasing department of a major Title Insurance company. I develop/write/maintain the windows and web applications that our employees use to purchase everything from office supplies to Computer equipment. I love my job and the people I work with are not only co-workers, but good friends.

What I like:
  • Building plastic models: Mostly sci-fi or airplanes. This was my first hobby as a kid.
  • 3D CGI Modeling and Animation: I love building 3D models of things with the computer.
  • R/C Airplanes: My best friend got me started on this, so much fun! I'd like to try Helicopters some time soon.
  • Motorcycles: I love riding my Kawasaki Vulcan. I'm so sad that's it broke right now. :(
  • MINI Cooper S: My favorite little car! I love the classics and love my 2004 Electric Blue
  • Programing: Started with HTML and PHP, fell in love with ASP.net and C#
